Just an hour away from Cape Town city centre, you’ll find the charming, old-world vineyard and wine estate, Wildekrans. The focus of this quaint wine estate lies very much in creating a fully home-grown product.
Wildekrans is a boutique winery so everything from the planting, harvesting, ageing, bottling and labelling is done on site – this is exactly what makes Wildekrans a world-class wine destination.
The estate, located on rolling hills overlooking Walker Bay is unique in this part of the country. The estate was originally a mixed farming operation, but today produces some of the finest wines not just in South Africa, but the world over.
In fact, the Wildekrans wine estate is a story in itself, having clinched a myriad awards for its quality both in South Africa and on international platforms. Wildekrans boasts three ranges of sumptuous wines; the Caresse Marine, the Estate Range, and the Barrel Select, the premium range, aged in barrels.
Each of these ranges in turn produces a collection of Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Rose, Pinotage, Merlot and Shiraz.
Other products on the farm include a fruit orchard, Olives and more recently canola.
